Rainbow is a band founded by former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who has been the only constant member of the band.
The first Rainbow line-up was Ronnie James Dio, Ritchie Blackmore, Micky Lee Soule, Craig Gruber, and Gary Driscoll.
4/5 of the first Rainbow line-up had previously been 4/6 of the last Elf line-up.
Elf had opened for Deep Purple on tour.
Graham Bonnet replaced Ronnie James Dio in Rainbow.
